ASCF Sr. Analyst Laurence Sanford interviews Colonel (Ret.) Pete McIllwain. Pete served as Chief of the CIA’s Clandestine Services during the opening days of the Afghan War, where he coordinated CIA operations with the U.S. Army Special Forces.

 

Pete’s 22-year career with the Agency included serving as Deputy Chief of Base in Berlin during the fall of the Berlin Wall and Chief of Base in Peshawar, Pakistan. Mr. Sanford is a former U.S. Navy officer and served four years in the CIA.

They discuss Iran's nuclear capability and whether they would actually use it on Israel. Finally, they discuss using grayzone warfare and exploiting Iran's internal unrest.

Does Iran have nuclear capabilities? Most likely.

Nuclear engineer, Lee Boyland, believes that Iran already has nuclear capability. The question is, will they use it? Most countries with this destructive power stay in check because of the Mutual Assured Destruction theory. However, Iran is run by an Islamic theocracy that believes martyrs are honored after death.
